BIG NEWS, itty bitty package
Wow, has it really been November since I blogged last. Well, hello again and sorry for the absence. How have you been? I hope that you have all had an absolutely joyful Christmas and a fabulous New Years! Fill me in! What was your favorite memory from over the holidays?For me, December flew by! I was kept busy getting all those beautiful christmas orders to clients (there are some seriously lucky recipients out there, if I do say so myself!) and then, of course, spending some AMAZING time with family and friends. The cold did it's very best to keep us indoors but we made do with some warm coffee and wonderful company! It really was a fantastic time.But anyways, on to the BIG NEWS!! The Meyer Family is expecting a brand new BABY GIRL in April. We are incredibly excited for this wonderful new adventure together and just cannot wait to meet the sweet little individual who already has made such an impact on our lives.I feel so blessed going into 2013! And am super excited to see what it has to bring for my family and my photography. As expected there will need to be a few changes as we embrace our new family life, here is a little of what you can expect to see for 2013.First of all, March through May I will not be booking any sessions so that I can prepare and fully enjoy this brand new stage of my life. You will still be able to reach me by e-mail and phone, it just might take a little longer for me to get back to you :)But, starting June I will be super excited to begin shooting again. I just love my job waaay to much to give it up! I will, however, be putting a cap on the amount of sessions and weddings I book to ensure I have enough time (and energy!!) to give each client 110%.Thanks so much for sharing this fabulous news with me!! 2013 is going to be a BLAST!Truly,Karmen

Remembrance Day | Proud to Be Canadian
It's November 11, Remembrance Day. I won't pretend to be able to comprehend the sacrifices brave Canadian Men & Women have made to protect my freedom. But I can say that I am extremely grateful. Thank-you.In 2004, I visited Canada's World War II Museum in Normandy, France. Growing up in the 90's and 00's in Alberta, this was one of my first 'real' understandings of what war is. It may have just been photographs, broken down barricades and stories, but for the first time I began to see.Here are a few scans from the film I took that day.

Krista & Shane | Edmonton Professional Wedding Photographer
Krista & Shane's beautiful wedding was certainly one-of-kind. Hosted at the ENJOY CENTRE in St. Albert and with the help of, wedding planner (extraordinaire), Jordan Broom they pulled off an ultra modern, cocktail style wedding. Why don't you take a peek for yourself... ENJOY!!
Krista's stunning 'flowerless' bouquet was made with broaches, dance medals, and other important memories!
I was seriously in LOVE with this gorgeous piece.
We started off the day with a windy and romantic first look in the park.
After one short hour of photos, a teary-eyed Krista was heading up the escalator towards her BIG moment, walking down the isle.
I just couldn't resist sneaking these two newly weds outside for some alone time in the gorgeous sunset light.
And then, it was time for champagne, amazing food and dancing!! A Perfect Night.
